Review: Hawk's Flight by Carol Chase

When bandits strike the merchant caravan Taverik travels with, he learns there is more to his companion Marko than he ever imagined: that she lives disguised as a man. Plagued by his own family's sordid reputation, Tav decides to help Marko find the men who killed her parents and forced her into hiding. At the same time, an ambitious general with a mysterious background is moving toward them, overthrowing each city in his path. In the midst of the siege, after Taverik discovers her true identity, he and Marko are separated. Will he be able to find her and tell her of her true past in time?

Hawk's Flight has long been one of my favorite books. It is currently out of print, but you can purchase it used here . And I suggest that you do! If you enjoy fantasy, this is definitely one not to be missed!

Also-- Carol Chase does nothing short of a phenomenal job weaving her spiritual plot in throughout the story naturally-- without seeming awkward, scripted, or cliche. It is not a Christian tale, but is set amidst a monotheistic religious culture.

If I can write my spiritual themes half as well as Carol Chase has done in Hawk's Flight, I will be well satisfied.

I'm serious!! If you enjoy fantasy at ALL, check it out!!!
