I think one advantage young adult writers may have over certain other genres is that the target audience congregates en masse in multiple ways. Schools. Church youth groups. Concerts and other similar venues.
So how can you market to these groups? Seriously-- I'm asking! I have a few ideas, and it's still a wee bit early for me personally, but I figure it's not a bad thing to be prepared with some plans before I need to act on them.
Here are my own ideas... See if they spark a few more.
1. Volunteer for Career Day at a local school.
2. Volunteer for community or church youth events.
3. Speak at schools or church youth functions about issues and challenges you've written about. (For example... I have a story that addresses teen drug addiction.)
4. Can you advertise a local book signing by giving out flyers to local schools and youth groups? It's at least worth checking that out.
Okay... so those are probably pretty "duh" and not really too outside the box. Other ideas??
Seriously, I know people read this thing... hit me with some fabulous wit and brain power! :)
Happy writing!

You could have a booth at a Christian rock concert. Make it a book signing event even.
Anything that would give your readers direct access to you is going to be good.
Both cool ideas. Thanks!
