I'm on VACATION!! Yea!! We are staying with family in Hendersonville, NC. I always forget how beautiful it is up here. There is a story that always seems more alive to me here, one I will write someday...
I'm grateful for the break, and it comes at a good time-- August begins another season. Anna's first year of preschool. Possibly a new year of ballet classes. The beginning of a new season even in writing, both as I begin a new project and transition to marketing the one I've completed.
All the new things are exciting. Maybe a little overwhelming. But I feel confident. If the last couple years have taught me anything, it is that the strength of my will is a force to be reckoned with. In the past, I gave up so easily. Tough things have happened. I've learned to fight. To keep on fighting. And I am not done learning it yet.
If I succeed as a writer, it will not be because I am monumentally gifted. It will be because I refuse to give up the dream, that I determine to learn a new lesson at every hard place. That every morning, I keep pressing through.
