The New Week's Resolutions

Each day... well, at least each week, I write a To Do list of all the things bouncing around in my head that I know I need to get done. Update my blog, turn in various chapters for critique, write and/or edit a certain number of words or chapters on my own projects, write various articles, clean the house, run errands, give the cat a bath, etc.

Some weeks I get so much done it's incredible! Other weeks the To Do list gets longer rather than shorter, and by the week's end, I'm scrambling to get it all done or else just moving half the items over to the next week's big list.

But one thing I try to do (and if you're familiar with the Simpleology way of doing things, you probably already do this) is to look back at the week for what worked, what killed my time, and how I can make the next week even better efficiency-wise.

As an Arbonne consultant, one of the things they teach you is that you are 70% more likely to reach a goal that you write down. Why? Well, certainly part of it is that writing a goal forces you to define it. There's also a certain rewarding feeling from being able to cross that thing off the list and say, "yep! I did it!!"

But even if you didn't do it all this week, there's always an opportunity to learn and improve. Speaking of which... I better move on to the next item on my list. ;)
